Take the Leap

Today I’m reminded how my husband and I took the leap. We didn’t know what we was getting ourselves into at the time of the leap. If I could be honest, it was quite scary. Anytime you are taking a leap, there will always be a sense of feeling scared. You don’t know what the scariness mean, you just know it’s there. It’s the fear of the unknown, I think.

What I know to be true, is this, the more thought you put into the fear, the more the fear will bring about nothing. The more thought you put into the leap, the more the leap will bring about faith. Faith that you can do anything. The leap will allow you to know that you can do anything you set your mind to. THE LEAP WILL DEFINITELY GROW YOU AS A PERSON!!!

We decided to move to Houston, Texas. We made the decision after being back home for 2 years. We had been in Lafayette, La, for about 10 years but we never really made a life out there. So we returned back to our home town, to re-evaluate what we wanted to do. So much was happening at the time. I think I had lost, my sister, my aunt, and then my grandmother. All within 5 years. Talk about tough.

I could remember telling my husband, I needed to go back home. My mom was alone. If I couldn’t be there for her, I honestly thought she wouldn’t want to live for anything at that time. It was a very dark place for my mom as you can imagine it would be. That was a lot. I just knew I needed to be back with my mom.

So we moved back home, and my husband was not really for it but he had my back. After being in Alexandria, La for about a year and half, we decided it was time to go.

A time to go…….. umm that didn’t sit too well with my mom or his mom. But they knew we had been gone for so long, we didn’t come to stay. We came to pick my mom back up to where she would be ok. She ended up finding her life again and I knew I could head out on that note.

Taking the LEAP, will make you have to change your MINDSET! We decided it was time and so we packed up and we moved to Houston. I was scared out of my mind. I cried when that Uhaul drove away from my mother in law’s home. That’s where we all gathered before we took off.

I didn’t have no family in Houston and my husband was working offshore at the time. I did have a job but that would soon end. We was moving in our very first house. We had only lived in apartments our entire time being together. This was way different.

Here is where the leap didn’t make any sense but we kept our faith! I don’t remember saying, what if we don’t make it here. I don’t remember saying, how will we make it there. I don’t remember saying, what if it don’t work out. I don’t remember saying, do we need a plan B! We went from paying $600-$675 in rent back in Lafayette to paying $1600 in rent in Houston, Texas.(thats normal out here by the way, that’s why I was so quick to say, OH WE HAVE TO BUY A HOME) THAT’S THE HOMETOWN IN ME!! lol πŸ˜‚ Not one thought we couldn’t make those payments. Crazy right!!! So here is the kicker, lol WE NEVER SECOND GUESSED IF WE COULD PAY IT!!! We had to change our mindsets!!!! We didn’t even struggle one time to pay it, God is our witness! Let’s not mention my husband getting laid off right after the move.

Doesn’t make any sense at all!! But when God is doing it, IT WILL NOT MAKE ANY SENSE TO MAN! πŸ˜ŠπŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ’•

Let me tell you this, WHEN GOD IS IN IT, IT WILL NOT FAIL!! I feel like God has been guiding us every step of the way! It’s like HE HAS EVERYTHING ALREADY PLANNED OUT FOR US!!! WHEEWW I didn’t mean to get that deep but it’s true!!! God is REAL AND EVERYTHING HE HAS FOR YOU, IS FOR YOU!! I didn’t mean to go there but just thinking about the goodness of JESUS MAKES ME WANT TO SHOUT!! That man has been leading us since we TOOK THE LEAP!!!

My husband and I were just talking about, this was by far one of the best things we could have done for one another and for our family. We have accomplished so much with just moving here. God has truly sent favor over us πŸ™ŒπŸ½

You want better for your life but you have been so afraid of the unknown, JUST TAKE THE LEAP!

There was no plan B! There wasn’t any negative thoughts. We just did it!! Literally saying, this is where we would raise our children at! It’s almost one of those moments where you say, it has to WORK!!!

God put this on my heart for you all, but I am inspired by my own blog today, lol. I feel like I am talking to myself! I think, I need to take another leap! πŸ€”

That picture at the top of this blog, was when we came out to view houses! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ’•

I pray that you will experience greater favour as you continue to trust our Great God and that your adventures will bear rich fruit and satisfy many who are hungry. Keep up with the plunges of faith in all that you do and be richly enriched day by day.

I recently took a leap too, I applied for a job that I’ve always wanted to get into but having had a career in a different path for almost 12 years, it had slipped to the back of my mind as “forgotten dreams”. I have been called for an interview and pray I get it.
