MY 21-29 YEAR OLD SELF

I am beyond thankful for all of life’s blessings. I recently thought about what would I tell my 20 year old self now that I am in my 30s. As I began to think about the journey I have been on lately, I been doing some reflecting. The reflecting is only to show me just how far I have come and just how far I have to go.

Do you ever reflect on your life or your journey?

Have you ever told your younger self things that your older self now knows?

For me, it is just like this,

Dear 20-29 year old Tarneshia,

You will experience some really hard times in your upcoming years of your 20s, but your 30s will be where it will all make sense. You will move in with your boyfriend who is now your husband, only to find out moving in was a big mistake. Both of you should have stayed in the dorms at college, because you will create unnecessary bills, that you will wish you would have waited to do so. Nursing school will not be such a breeze but if you stay the course, you will finish what you started. Your sister will leave you and you will then think your world has ended. You will have to grow up really really fast!! You will not be able to enjoy being young because your mom will need you more than ever. You will have to help your parents with your sister’s kids or they will have to go into foster care. You will have your own child to care for as well. You will think all of this isn’t fair but somehow you will find strength in God to keep going. You will lose your best friend in the world who happens to be your grandmother. Her lost will come at a quick reality that she will not be with you much longer.  You will find your way back to God because at this point you truly need him. As you are a new mom, a new wife, a new career woman, and the backbone to your family at only the age of 25 years old. You will feel overwhelm, but I can honestly say I am very proud of you for never making an excuse. Again all of this will make sense in your 30s. As much as you want to give up, you must keep going. Your marriage will hit a point where you want to give it up as well but again you will find strength in God to keep it going. You will have your second child as well.  As life will hit you super hard in your 20s, you will stay the course. In your last year of your 20s, you will make a vow to yourself. Those vows will literally change your life and perspective on how you VIEW YOUR LIFE AND OTHER WOMEN LIVES!  THIS IS WHERE YOU WILL FIND YOUR PURPOSE!!!! Your 20s will prepare you for everything your 30s will need to exceed in your purpose.. Enjoy your 30s because GIRL YOU WILL BE DOING YOUR THANG and YOU DESERVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!! DO NOT LET ANYONE STEAL YOUR JOY BECAUSE YOU HAVE HAD SOME PAIN BUT YOU NEVER STOPPED!!!

  1. Key statement☝️ “Remain the Course” ohhhhhh but God. Even when trials come on every hand as the ol Gospel song. You still must go on.πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™πŸ½πŸ’ͺ🏽

  2. Awesome read..I don’t even know what to say to my 20 year old self..I was a fool and threw away so much money and time and I’m paying for it in my 30s but I don’t regret it because those lessons shape me into the person I am today

    1. Thanks Bestie!! That is it, you are just reflecting on how far you have come from that space of being a fool(so you say) and spending money. Most of us do not know the value of a dollar until we do not have it. Great response as well!
